Disaster Prevention and Education Centre

Modern DROO architecture in London featuring geometric design DROO – Da Costa Mahindroo Architects

An innovative architectural creation by DROO in London. DROO – Da Costa Mahindroo Architects

The proposal for the Disaster Prevention & Education Centre focuses on hierarchically resolving the various programmatic and functional conditions of use and access. Envisioned as two intricate loops responding to different flows from the simulation related sequence to educative facilities, a unique internal landscape of modules interspersed with pathways is generated. Simultaneously, the building’s image derives a system of apertures adapting their orientation to provide a constant measured daylight. The light modulation exists throughout the design, with the exterior skin expressing gradient of opacities through a pixelated ceramic pattern.
