  • At DROO, adaptive reuse is grounded in a systematic, register‑based methodology that allows us to work with existing structures while shaping the conditions for new architecture. We begin by assembling a layered register—structural state, historical significance, energy profile, spatial potential, regulatory boundaries, and community value. This framework guides our design decisions and defines where to reinforce, where to open, and where to strategically introduce new fabric. When extended across the site, the same registers allow us to design new‑build components that align with the existing logic, ensuring continuity in circulation, massing, and environmental behaviour. By unifying analysis and design across old and new, we create interventions that respect what is inherited while establishing a robust framework for future evolution.

  • DROO specialises in Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) with a strong focus on off‑site manufacturing, prefabrication, modular design, and hybrid construction systems. Our expertise spans 2D panelised assemblies and 3D volumetric modules, developed through realised hospitality and residential projects where precision, speed, and quality are essential. By integrating BIM‑led coordination, factory‑controlled production, and low‑carbon strategies, we deliver efficient, high‑performance buildings that minimise disruption on constrained or heritage‑sensitive sites. DROO’s MMC approach enhances programme certainty, improves acoustic and thermal performance, and enables scalable, repeatable solutions tailored to hotel operators, serviced‑living brands, and urban regeneration contexts.

  • DROO’s façade design methodology positions the envelope as a mediator between building and city. By working with thickness, we create façades that register context, light, heritage alignments and future adaptability. Deep façades offer room for planting, shading structures, acoustic buffers and layered circulations that soften the transition to the street. Inhabitable thresholds—bay volumes, intermediate terraces, sheltered niches—act as small urban rooms that animate the building’s perimeter. These elements allow façades to participate in the life of the neighbourhood, providing visual rhythm, social permeability and environmental resilience. Our design process weaves material intelligence, structural logic and climate strategy into a coherent envelope where depth enables both performance and meaningful urban dialogue.
