Deauville Housing
Residential building
For the seaside city of Deauville, the project is a carved monolith of engineered timber used simultaneously as structure, cladding and finish. Taking on the local tradition of turn of the century eclectic “balnéaire” architecture, the project uses a double facade to create crafted relief out of single material whilst an aggregation principle of the primal “house” manages various contextual heights. The self-imposed density created frees within large shared garden spaced out of a dense heritage context.
