A quietly iconic form lightly balancing on the water’s edge, the Museum is a deceivably simple and identifiable form. Linking seafront promenade, park and city, it invites all publics inwards through its permeable organisation and textures.
Multi-experiential promenades loop from roof landscape to piazza around the atrium. A belvedere to the city. A sculptural wooden ceiling accompanies the visitor’s journey augmenting the space with its daylight responsive design. The double layer envelope acts as a perforated interface. With the contrast between wood and white, the envelope is evocative of local tones and materials.
